The new attraction will open in 2024 on the current Aqua Stadion location. After 30 years the waterski stunt show has come to an end.

For 30 years, Holiday Park visitors could enjoy the fantastic water ski stunt show on the Holiday Park Lake. Due to the Corona pandemic, it has not been possible to play the show for the last 2,5 years. After such a long shutdown, the structural and technical condition of the entire area no longer meets the expectations of a contemporary show. As Holiday Park always wants to offer new thrills to its visitors, a new concept has now been developed for the aqua stadium and lake area. "We are very grateful for everyone who has participated in the water ski stunt show over the last 30 years, we have had the honour to work with many people from different countries," says Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group. "But today, after 2 years without the show, it is too difficult to restart it, despite all our efforts".
New themed area
During the last weeks and months the Holiday Park team looked to all the possible options and decided to refurbish the complete zone and to give it a new destination. Therefore they set up a cooperation with the creative team of world’s most famous festival: Tomorrowland. "We are very proud to be able to expand our range of attractions also in Germany together with Tomorrowland. With the expertise of our own designers and the creative minds of the Tomorrowland festival, we will create a next-level attraction and themed zone at Holiday Park," the CEO confirms. Also the CEO of Tomorrowland, Bruno Vanwelsenaers, is enthousiastic about the expansion of the partnership: "We are very proud with this new cooperation. Germany is one of our biggest People of Tomorrow countries and we feel a lot of love from our neighbouring country. Thanks to this partnership, a lot of people can get to know Tomorrowland and we can continue to grow the experience."
Together with the festival's creative team, Holiday Park is developing a completely new themed area that will let visitors dive into the unique festival atmosphere of Tomorrowland. Construction work on the new major attraction is scheduled to start this year and be completed in 2024. The total investment has a value of 15 million euro.
The Ride to Happiness in Plopsaland De Panne
In the Belgian sister park 'Plopsaland De Panne', 'The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland' opened in 2021. The spectacular roller coaster of the type 'Xtreme Spinning Coaster', is the first of its kind in Europe and already won several awards as best novelty and best roller coaster in Europe in its first year of opening. The roller coaster is the first in Europe to combine a double catapult launch and several rollover elements with a roller coaster train whose gondolas can rotate freely around their own axis.
Holiday Park in the future
Over the past year, Holiday Park has made a number of new investments: Holiday Indoor in 2019, the newly themed water attraction Dino Splash in 2020 and a completely new themed area based around the popular TV series Wickie und die starken Männer in 2021. In total, around 20 million euros have been invested in the new additions. The park has also already announced a hotel and a water park for the coming years.
